EXERCISE 2: INVERSION TABLE/HANGING
To perform this exercise, you must have an Inversion Table. If you don't have an inversion table you can substitute it by fastening your ankle on a hanging strap and then hang upside down. The concept here it to stretch your lower body bones, i.e, your knee and thigh joints in order to make the cartilages between the bones grow in length.

How to do?

if cartilage increase then where will your knee cap will go?
and when your cartillage increases then your tendons in lowerleg muscle and quads increase is size but if the cartillage shrink in later life then these tendons will get wrinkled.
it is a good one for people who are having cartillage problems

if you only do stretching your whole life your bones will get long. however, those bones will be stretched out without resistance put on to them so they will be weak. now if you do stretching and running your whole life and maybe then, your legs will become stretched and strong. This is one of the reasons why some healthy people recommend alternating between exercise with form and stretching. so lift and stretch. lift and stretch. well actually, when you lift your squeezing one muscle while the opposite muscle is stretching. like bicep and tricep. but this is getting BROADER not longer necessarily. so inversion table will stretch the bones and muscles and cartilages, hence lengthening. ALL IN ALL that lengthened muscle needs to be strengthened to hold that newly found stretched form. And, in the end its muscles that strengthen the bones.

i dont get the first exercise. can someone explain it more thoroughly. wuts the point of putting on the weights if ur not gona kick ur legs with them?
ryan...gravity helps your legs grow....just like your spine if you do a little hanging....you can kick your legs with them but try first do this exercice for an hour with 4kilo weights.....you'll understand....you will feel a little pain at your bones...trust me it's a good sign...i've done this before it works.......p.s don't move ur legs...if you feel uncomfortable rub them...

This is like an annual process. You are not supposed to measure it monthly. For me... When I hang my legs... I add 2 lbs with small barbels and hang it for like 30-60 minutes every night before I go to sleep. I think after hanging your legs... you are not supposed to walk or standup anymore because then... you'll be pushing back the length that has been stretched. I'm about 17. Being 24+ means that your bones have fused HARDER than a 17's. Your bones are harder to stretch so you'll have to do it longer I guess. I listen to music while hanging my legs.
ill try it, previously i did a series of stretchng exercises excluding ths, im h0ping ds wud hve a positive result, i gained an inch 6 m0ns later after d0ing those.

Hi...i tried this 3 month ago..and amazingly, i think this will give hope to people. Ive grown from 1m67 to 1m71 :) ...i tried it everyday (knee weight) ...at first you might feel your joint paining a bit, but later on its gona be ok.
IMPORTANT: do some jumping exercises also so as to strengthen those joins, else they might get weak

Bones grow as fiberous cartilage matrix of the bones' epiphyseal plates is destoyed and replaced; Phosphates; magnesium salts and calcium are deposited within the spaces of the matrix. These minerals attribute to the hardness of the bones. The bones harden and become more durable as the deposites hardern, a process named calcification. Growth Hormone (GH) is only given to children who are still growing as the cartilage in their epiphyseal plates is not yet fully calcified. An adult will not gain any length from GH becuase new cartilage cannot be added as their epiphyseal plates are fused and fully calcified. It is said that girls' bones fuse 4 years after pubity.
Vitamin D is vital for bone growth as it aids the absorption of calcium. Growing children should make sure they have enough vitamin D, calcium and magnesium in their diet. They should also be exposed to sunlight (A source of vitamin D) and regulally exercise.

total bull. If this actually does work it's going against nature and is going to lead towards health issues, such as damaged hamstrings, pain in thighs etc. Don't try this. You've got too much to lose.
yeah its hard to trust on such exercises .... actually 90percent people dun do it regularly dat is y eve 1 is againest da exercise... if bone doesn't grow by streching y does ur broken bones recover by themselves...? u directly hang upside down 4m a bar and it wil make ur legs taller.. who comment on it widout trying it 4 at least 1 year r making others loose hope... da fact is dat v dun perform it regularly.. eve part of ur body can grow if u continuously stretch it but becuz bone take a v.v.v.long time to grow people stops doin it n comes out wid a comment dat it doesn't works.

Pure BS - I have used both ankle weights and an Inversion table every day now for over 25 years, and I have never grown a single inch since I was in High school. There's nothing to support this. The only people who might see an increase in height are those people who have severe kyphosis, and then only because they improve their posture to stand straighter. When you invert or add ankle weights muscle guarding keeps your joints for dislocating. It's your muscles that support you, not your bones. To do what they claim you would have to tear your muscles, tendons and ligaments so badly that the bones pulled from their sockets. This would obviously cripple you, and you would ultimately wind up a couple feet shorter in a wheelchair. I hate to burst anyone's bubble but this is a ridiculous method that will not work. Anyone claiming it has worked for them is lying, plain and simple. Human growth hormone might work if you are young enough, and there are one or two very painful surgeries which involve lengthening the bones, but it seems like a lot to go through for simple vanity.

After your growth plates fuse there is no growing. Spinal column is not really rubber. It compresses and decompress an inch, true, but thats it. It won't stretch 5 inches etc.
The only way after puberty is the painful surgery.

Idk a bout this but I was not exercising for 2 years I started taking care of my body stopped smoking and stretching and running and I went from 5 ft 10 and half to almost 6 feet. If you have been taking care of your body for a while and your 20 or over you most likely aren't growing anymore

hi, i'm 24 yrs old and 5'3.5"ft in height.....I had a slow growth so at 15 i sprinted a lot that gained me 6.5 inches in about 1.5 years. after that i gradually stopped and expected normal height but that didn't come to me. But now I'm frustrated of living like this....i just need some way that can make me taller atleast 2 inches more. So i pray to you to advise me on how can i grow atleast a bit taller positively.
